Putting the Power of Harmony to Work in Your Family

Have you ever noticed that the easiest place to remain self-centered is with your family? You will notice that most times you find it easy to be lovely with others outside your home, but with your family, you are tempted to allow yourself more selfish privileges because you it didn't count there.

Before I was a Christian, I realized that I was nicer to friends than to my own family. I was more demanding and less forgiving with those dearest to me than with anyone else.

But after I made Jesus Lord of my life, I realized all that had to change when it comes to loving everyone. As I began to learn through the Word how important loving is, how important harmony is within me and my family.

Until I came across this Scripture (see Matthew 18:19) I learned that if I wanted the power of agreement to work in my life and in my family, I cannot afford not to love, for me not to allow strife in our home I must allow love to take it full course.

Let's go through the list of what strife and loving do to us.

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” James 3:16

What Strife do to You

·        When you are in strife, your shield of faith drops and you get little or nothing in your faith work.

·        Strife insulates or paralyzes the power of God in your life.

·        Strife hinders your prayer results and invites the devil and his cohorts into your home.

·        If you are in strife, you’ll be no threat to the devil anywhere.

Discord is deadly and it's found where love is absent. Don’t allow the devil to stop you at your own front door by allowing strife in your home.

What Loving do to You (Philippians 2:2‭-‬4 NLT)

·        Agreeing wholeheartedly with each other becomes so easy.

·        You grow in love with one another.

·        Working together with one mind and purpose becomes easy.

·        All your selfish acts are nowhere to be found.

·        You no longer try to impress others.

·        You become humble.

·        You think of others as better than yourselves.

·        You don't look out only for your own interests anymore, but now take an interest in others.

Let's work in love at all costs, we can all love because the love of God has been shared abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5).
